About Us

Ian Cassells has been an associated name with the horse eventing community since 2011 starting at junior to young rider and now competing at a senior level.
Ian Graduated from college with a Hons Degree in Agricultural science 2017. Throughout his 5 years in college, Ian was Captain and president of the UCD equestrian club and a member of Irish Universities Riding Clubs Association (IURCA) representing Europe and America.
Throughout his time within the association, Ian has won the world finals twice individually and has also been a member of the Irish team who have won this accolade twice.

Ian’s yard is based beside his parents dairy farm and lies over 80 acres. Teaching has become another big part of Ian’s focus in recent years where he seeks to train young aspiring event riders in his local area and around Ireland. These young riders get the opportunity to compete and learn while attending local eventing in Ireland.
Having started at a young age Ian knows what it takes to compete at a high level and to the highest of standards at home in Ireland and internationally, within Europe.

Ian is a very talented and empathetic rider. He works extremely hard with each of his horses to understand and improve its way-of-going in training in order to maximise its long-term potential and results in competition. His riding style is very soft and light whilst still being effective, allowing his horses to naturally express themselves in their work. Despite already being one of Ireland’s most successful event riders, Ian is always looking to improve both himself and his horses and has a very bright future ahead of him in the sport.
